# All Budgets

![All budgets page with three budgets, one expanded to show its two versions](https://docs.etropo.com/images/budget/list/all-budgets-list.webp)

The **All Budgets** page lists every budget in your organization. Open it from **Budget > All Budgets** in the sidebar, or go to [All budgets](https://app.etropo.com/budgets). Click a budget to open it in the Budget Editor.

## What the list shows

Each row shows one budget. Active budgets are at the top of the list.

- **Budget**: the budget name.
- **Period**: the first and last month of the budget.
- **Categories** and **Line items**: how many the budget contains.
- **Versions**: how many [versions](https://docs.etropo.com/budget-planning/versions) of the plan the budget has.
- **Created**: the date the budget was created.
- **Status**: **Active** or **Draft**.
- **Actions**: the menu with **Duplicate**, **Set Active** or **Set Draft**, and **Delete**. Only administrators see this menu.

Administrators see every budget. Other members see only the budgets that contain at least one category they can access. Learn more in [Budget Access Control](https://docs.etropo.com/budget-planning/access-control).

## Open a version

A budget can have several versions of its plan, for example the live plan and a reforecast.

1. Click the arrow at the start of the budget row.
2. Click the version you want to open.

The **Active** badge marks the version your organization works from. Etropo opens the version you clicked in the Budget Editor.

## Create or import a budget

Administrators create budgets with the **Create budget** button at the top of the page. It opens the budget creator, where you [build a new budget](https://docs.etropo.com/getting-started/create-budget) step by step or [import a spreadsheet](https://docs.etropo.com/getting-started/import-budget).

### Unfinished budget setup

![Unfinished budget setup card on the All budgets page with the Resume and Discard buttons](https://docs.etropo.com/images/budget/list/unfinished-budget-setup.webp)

When you leave the creator before you click **Create budget**, the **Unfinished budget setup** card shows where you stopped. Click **Resume** to continue, or **Discard** to delete the draft. Learn more in [Drafts](https://docs.etropo.com/getting-started/create-budget#drafts).

## Set a budget active or draft

Only one budget in your organization can be active at a time. Use **Active** for the budget your team tracks spend in. Use **Draft** for budgets you plan or keep for reference.

1. Click the **⋯** menu in the **Actions** column.
2. Click **Set Active** or **Set Draft**.

If another budget is already active, Etropo shows the message "Another budget is already active. Please set it to draft first." Set that budget to **Draft**, then repeat the steps.

## Duplicate a budget

Duplicate a budget to start the next year from the same structure. For a reforecast or a scenario of the same budget, create a [version](https://docs.etropo.com/budget-planning/versions) instead.

![Duplicate Budget dialog with the name, dates and copy options](https://docs.etropo.com/images/budget/list/duplicate-budget-dialog.webp)

1. Click the **⋯** menu in the **Actions** column, then **Duplicate**.
2. Enter a **Budget Name**. Etropo proposes the source name with "(Copy)".
3. Set the **Start Date** and **End Date** of the new budget.
4. Keep **Copy planned amounts** selected to copy the planned amounts.
5. Select **Copy actual amounts (if any)** to also copy the actuals.
6. Click **Duplicate Budget**.

Etropo creates the new budget with the status **Draft** and opens it.

**What the copy contains**

- All categories, including [master categories](https://docs.etropo.com/budget-planning/structure#master-categories).
- All line items, with their custom properties and cost center assignments.
- Planned amounts and actuals, if you selected them.
- One version, copied from the active version of the source budget.

**What the copy does not contain**

- Integration mappings, for example Google Ads or LinkedIn Ads connections.
- Cell locks. Copied actuals are plain values that you can edit.
- Category access for other members. Only you have access to the new budget. Grant access again in [Budget Access Control](https://docs.etropo.com/budget-planning/access-control).

## Delete a budget

Only administrators can delete a budget. Deletion is permanent and removes all versions, line items, planned amounts and actuals of the budget.

1. Click the **⋯** menu in the **Actions** column, then **Delete**.
2. Click **Delete** in the **Delete Budget** dialog.
